Graduation Announcement Correction
When we mailed out our graduation announcements they said that Jake was graduating Cum Laude. Actually, his final GPA made him eligible to graduate

Washington DC
After my week in Philadelphia, Jake flew out and met me in DC for a wonderful week together. We have been planning and saving for this trip for quite awhile, even before we knew we were moving there. It was our graduation present to ourselves! We kept the week really relaxed and low-key. We did some sightseeing, apartment hunting, hanging out with friends, and a lot of relaxing. It was the perfect trip to unwind from the end of semester stress.
Here are a few of the pictures we took:

Me and an airplane engine that was somehow significant enough to make it into the Air and Space Museum. Jake thought it was cool so I posed in front of it.
It was great to be able to check out DC and get a better idea of what we will be moving to.
Our Conclusions on the Area:
1. The highway layout is AWFUL in the DC area. There are all sorts of forks, exits, etc. that probably exist to confuse you. Also, if you take a wrong exit you're going in a completely new direction on some new random road. We seriously spent hours driving around lost on those roads.
2. We LOVE the DC area and George Washington Campus. After seeing it we're even more excited to be moving there and are thrilled about the GW decision!!

AAM in Philadelphia
A couple weeks ago some friends and I (all who are museum enthusiasts) went out to Philadelphia (with a stop in DC) for the annual American Association of Museums conference.
This is Adrien, Tammy, Me, Jessica, and Carlee in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
We flew into DC and spent a day there sightseeing. We visited the monuments and of course went to a ton of museums.
Then the five of us squished into Tammy's car and drove to Philadelphia and checked into our really small, sketchy hotel room. It was next door to a men's homeless shelter and didn't even have enough floor space to put a twin size air mattress out. We met Paul in Philly (who got a large, luxurious hotel room in a much nicer hotel) and spent the next few days attending the conference, sightseeing, and attending more museums.
One night we went to one of the parties the local museums host. We went to the party at Independence Hall and the Constitution Center. That was awesome because we got to go through those buildings practically by ourselves when usually there are tons of people crammed in there. It was fabulous.
The conference was fantastic. I mean, what could be better than 5,000 people who LOVE museums getting together?
Tammy and I both got to present research at the conference. We did poster presentations alongside some of the biggest names in Audience Research. It was a little nerve wracking, but a great experience and tons of fun!
It was a great week and way too much happened to talk about all at once. Jessica posted a fabulous summary of the week on her blog, so go there for more details about the week.

Graduation
Last Friday we officially graduated!! We both wanted to walk with our own colleges, so we ended up sitting through back-to-back graduation ceremonies. That was kind of a mistake, but it was nice for both of us to be able to walk with our peers.
Jake looks a little dazed (but still handsome!) because he didn't go to sleep the night before.
We'll miss BYU, but it's still great to be done!

Danny and Kristi's Wedding
Yesterday, Kristi and Danny got married!! The temple ceremony was amazing and they had a fantastic reception at the Springville Museum of Art. Kristi was a beautiful bride and spent the day giggling like crazy.
The bridesmaid dresses were gorgeous. Kristi picked a great pattern and beautiful fabric. At the temple a couple girls drove past me and then backed up to talk to me. They said I was wearing a really cute dress and wanted to know where I had gotten it (which is an amazing compliment to Danny's mom, the seamstress). The skirts were full and perfect for twirling. We had the photographer take overhead shots of the five of us twirling, which I hope turned out really well.
I didn't take a lot of pictures on my camera, but here are a few.

New Lives Exhibition
This semester I co-curated an exhibition at the Museum of Peoples and Cultures. The exhibition is called New Lives: Building Community at Fourmile Ruin. It talks about people living at a Pueblo site called Fourmile Ruin (in Eastern Arizona). The exhibit opened last week, and I think it's amazing! Here's some pictures from the opening:
