Five Years

In five years we went from this:

May 19, 2007

To this:

May 20, 2012

Congratulations on earning your Juris Doctorate, Jake.  I'm so incredibly proud of you!

Law School Graduation

After three long years of law school Jake graduated!  I am so incredibly proud of him.  Here are some pictures from graduation weekend.

Riding the metro to Commencement.

Check out the hood:

I LOVE this picture. It looks like Jake is fending off an attack from Paige.  Crazy baby!

Commencement was on the National Mall, which was pretty cool.

Next we went to the Law School's ceremony.  You can see Jake in the sea of graduates.

Walking across to get his diploma.

Here's what Paige thought of the whole graduation.  She thought it was pretty boring and fell asleep.

We're so so proud of Jake!

Air and Space Reception

As part of graduation weekend, the law school hosted a reception at the National Air and Space Museum.  I didn't get too many pictures, but here we are posing with a few of our amazing friends that made getting through law school bearable.

Michelle, Heidi and Christen

Kartchners Visit

Aunt Lindsey and Grandma and Grandpa Kartchner came out for Jake's graduation.  Paige was so excited to see them.

She loved playing with Aunt Lindsey.

And hanging out with the grandparents. We visited the Jefferson Memorial:

And walked down to the lake to feed the ducks (or rather the fish since the ducks weren't out that day).

It's always fun when family visits!

Studying for the Bar

Jake started BARBI in mid-May for the beginning of his long and torturous journey studying to take the bar.

Paige and I dropped by one day to visit him while he was studying.  Here is a picture of Jake working away while Paige does what she does best (eat Chipotle).

Painting

I forgot that you can't leave a toddler and some paint unsupervised, because if you do your table and your child gets covered in paint.

I love the mischievous look on her face here:

Oops!  Paint in the eyes!

Mall Trip

Paige and I went on a fun little outing to the mall with some of our friends.  We stopped by the Disney Store just in time for a story time.

After the story they handed out Mickey bookmarks.  Paige was one happy camper.

Then we went up to the play place (Paige's favorite place in the world).
